After 1 serving of a meal, I drink a glass of water and wait the 20 minutes before allowing myself to get more, even if I still feel hungry. Usually once the time is up I realize that I actually don't want the food.

MORE INFORMATION:
It takes 20 minutes for the stomach to tell the brain that it is full, so many times people are still eating without realizing that they are full. Waiting let's you eat less and still feel satisfied!

    I REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA! I DO MINE A LITTLE DIFFERENT THO.. I MAKE IT A POINT TO DRINK A 8OZ GLASS OF COLD WATER BEFORE EATING... AND IF I'M STILL WANTING TO EAT MORE I TALK OR FIND SOMETHING TO DO PRETTY SOON YOU WILL FORGET ABOUT THAT SECOND PORTION!

    How very true!!! We so often gobble our meals down and then want more. Slow and easy is the way to go.
