If you want to stick to your diet, it is very important to plan a healthy menu, make a list, and stick to it when shopping. Stores are sure to put fattening and expensive treats on the end of an aisle and at eye level to get you to buy. Be sure to eat before you shop, to keep from impulse buying!

Lately I have had to watch my carbohydrates. I plan my shopping list around lower carbs. Thanks to SparkPeople and the whole grain information, we are buying a healthier bread to eat. The new bread is 100% whole grain whole wheat bread that contains ancient grains kamut, spelt, Quinoa & amaranth whole grains. I am eating less carbs and loosing more weight. Dr. Phil advises that shelves in the middle of the grocery store are mostly stock unhealthy foods and advises to stay away from them and I do.

This one is so good for the cost of half an hour a week you can plan what to eat, ensure you buy the correct ingredients and monitor your food intake. A perfect opportunity to try something new once or more a week. If you set aside time on a regular day you can put the list away and forget it so you feel like each one is a surprise. Help fussy eaters by adding new ideas but they know their old favourites will appear later in the week. Shopping on line also saves money as you don't get tempted by the marketeers plan in store.

VERY good reminder! Especially going to the grocery store AFTER eating! One time I went to Sam's before my dh and I were going for supper, and I could hardly eat supper because I was SO, SO hungry and had to have their samples! UGH! Lesson learned! emoticon

Thanks Sewing Meg for keeping fresh in my mind about having that list ready and eating before I go grocery shopping. Guess what I am doing today??? emoticon
