When I want to eat something I probably shouldn't, I go ahead and log the food. After analyzing the fat/calories, I can decide whether it's worth it to me to eat it. If it is, I go ahead and eat a serving. If not, I can just delete that food from my day and move on.

Hadn't thought about it but feel it just could be something I need. especially when I amtrying so hard that at the end of the day I have failed to stay within the goals I have set for my self.

I do this all the time. Sometime when I am done logging the meals for the day I will see where I can add or subtract something to keep me in range.

I used to do this with the Lose it! app on my iPhone, but now that I don't have it anymore I've totally forgot about it. I'll definitely be starting this up again on sparkpeople!

I just did this last night. I was thinking I would like a margarita. I pre-logged it and I could afford it calorie-wise, but re-thought actually drinking it since it might set me back just that much more. Still didn't lose weight - oh well...

I do this often! Great minds think a like. It really helps especially if you don't want to go over on anything. This way you can change it before you indulge!

Pre-Logging food
Have started preparing brown-bag lunches for the next day right after dinner the night before...so its set in stone what I will eat. At breakfast the next morning, I log what I am eating and I "Pre-log" my lunch...it helps me stick to it.
After dinner (and preparing tomorrow's lunch), I log dinner and "Pre-log" an evening snack.
I do not know whether it is just the benefit of pre-planning or the guilt of cheating on myself....this works for me.
