Does anyone else have trouble when listening to a great song while on the treadmill almost trip and fall because your body all of sudden decided to start dancing instead of walking? emoticon - by FISHKNEES
  • you have no idea how motivational music can be i even use soothing music to ease my mind and my stress. This morning i went for a power walk and i was almost about to quite before the last minute but one of my favs came on and i made it through the last minute and add 4 others. - by FYRSTORME1
  • Don't stop movin, by Livin' Joy from the Jock Jams 3 album. The beat, the lyrics! It's AMAZING!!
It makes me feel like I really can do anything! - by LLEWIS6879

seriously, i started putting in my "rock out in the apartment on my headphones" time as fitness time- especially on a hot day, it's WORK. I LOVE IT. by the time i'm done, i've run the course, and i'm sweating. I actually do dance, not just club dancing, so even though i have limited space, i try to involve a little piece of everything i've learned over the years. there are days i attempt a barre routine on my china hutch to slower music.
if at the end i'm sweating and i have to take a minute or two to catch my breath, i call it a workout, even if it was just me shaking my butt to music i love :) rock on :) - by YOUNGPADOWAN

Music, has always and will always be my source of great expression. A good song has the power to make me think, help me to change, make me cry, and even help me to figure out lives ups and downs. Great music always helps to motivate me to work out harder, faster and longer. emoticon - by AKAFIT
  • I think music has a big impact on our mood. I am new so going to look for music that I can play when I wake up in the morning to get me on track for the day. - by FUNLOVINGONE
  • I downloaded 101 housework songs to my ipod. Some trash, but it keeps me dancin' as I'm dustin' (it stops my thought that this is boring---I think of it as giving me exercise points.) - by GERRYCAM1
  • Before I work out, I listen to Prodigy and KMFDM. That'll get me going before a class!

When I need to push through a threshold, I listen to dance music. It helps me feel like I'm in a club. I know I would be dancing until it closes. So, I have no excuses, but to keep on working out as if I were dancing the night away. That has dragged me over some serious hurdles! - by HAPPY_KNEES
  • I need my music, without it i wouldnt make it through my work out! - by KRISTYLC8878
  • HAPPYFEET9903
I agree with the fact that music gets/keep you going. I joined a square dance club and ballroom dancing in my town (after losing 40 pounds) because it just keeps you moving forward with the exercise. And it's soooooo much fun to dance/exercise with other people. I do have an elliptical machine, treadmill, and Schwinn exerbike. I put in a 'Biggest Loser Video' or 'Bootcamp' with Jillian Michaels or Kim Rogers also and do their routines on alternate days. Try to do something different to keep you interested. emoticon - by HAPPYFEET9903
  • I have loaded 'embarrasing to be seen to listen to songs' onto my ipod and whether doing housework, work work or work out work I can bop along and no one knows the cringeworthy music that is making me smile. - by JOYTORJ

The album I play the most would probably be MJ's Greatest Hits. Good music just makes you feel good all over emoticon . - by DECAREAU84

Without music, I would have a hard time exercising. It really motivates me. That's probably why I love Zumba so much. I love to dance, and I love Latin music so it was only natural. Also, the calm, meditative music when I do yoga serves to relax me more. Where would we be without music? It's the soundtrack of our lives. - by GINLYNN913
  • Music keeps me going when I want to quit. - by LUCYVT
  • Can anyone list any more specific songs? I need *BEAT* that helps me power it up as I try to keep my pace strong. Two of my favorites have been Bob Seger's Old Time Rock and Roll and Holding Out for a Hero from the Footloose soundtrack; I use a few others from the Footloose soundtrack, however, do you have suggestions for ways to find more good BEAT music that I can use so that I am not using the same thing again and again? - by HAVANESE_FAN

  • I agree. I also use this as an incentive to keep going. If I complete my exercises for the week, then I can buy new songs for my IPOD. I love Black Eyed Peas. They make me want to keep going when I don't feel like it. AM - by 4EVERTRYN
