When ordering out --- ask if there are choices that are on the menu -- different cheeses etc.
Today I asked at McDonald's if they had swiss cheese -- Swiss is much lower in calories and much much lower in sodium. I know it's not always the healthiest choice -- but when it's your destination -- make it as healthy as possible.
Whenever I go to a restaurant that has a buffet, I ask to order off the menu. I've learned that I just don't have the willpower for a buffet, and I'm always trying to "eat my money's worth." I'm just as satisfied with a plate of my own.
Plus, if you order off the menu, you can always ask for a to-go box and take some of your meal home.
I have a hard time remember an hour's worth of sets for my swim workout, but can't bring paper into the pool with me! Photo-style holiday cards make a GREAT "laminated" workout paper. I write on them in sharpie and they last through the water and chlorine!
...not to mention, I don't have to feel guilty about throwing away the extra cards I ordered!
