In order to save a little extra money, I check the serial number $1 bills I receive. If they begin with the first letter of my name(for example, mine is A) I tuck them away and it makes a great rainy day, reward or travel fund.

I'm saving all the $5 dollar bills I receive this year.

have a rule!

I have a rule for saving money and that is I save all my five dollar bills. If a cashier gives me my change back and it is a five dollar bill, I will save it in my jar. It takes some time but it works and you easily add to your saving! Think of the times when you were given a five dollar bill add those lets say and you could have saved over hundreds of dollars! Try it you won't lose anything but will save a bunch!

MORE INFORMATION:
Keep your money in save spot! I use a jar and when it gets really full I don't cash it in. I rubber band the money and put it in a save box!(somewhere REALLY save) Seeing the money in you account will give you a chance to spent it! out of mind out of site.
