I have found that decreasing the amount of time I spend on cardio will help me break through a plateau. The secret is to work out at a higher intensity. If you normally work out for 30 to 45 mins at a moderate pace, try working out for 20 to 35 mins at a faster pace or at a higher resistance.
Sometimes hitting a plateau means you need to rest. Don't spend so much time at the gym for a week and see how it goes.

When you slip off track, have a card catalog created to get you back on. Use flash cards and write things to do when you go off track. Pick your usual situations that take you off track, and make a couple cards for each it. (ie: Eat too much, have a card say "that meal is over, start again" or
"Exercise a little more to compensate.
My YWCA only charges annual membership of about $20 & $40 for a gym membership. Yearly fee gives you access to the Y & its programs. They have a place for children & teens to go if that's needed. The Gym fee though separate gives you 30 visits to the gym from 6am to 11:30pm daily or if you exercise less or only a few days a week at the gym this is perfect. Those 30 days can be used anytime. They don't run out at the end of each month & carry-over until there used up.
Decide you don't need to go then don't purchase another 30 days until your ready to start again w/o any strings. The Y membership comes to about .05 cents a day, the gym comes to $1.33 a day for use of the gym. In total you spend $1.38 per visit.Your YWCA is not a place only for Women. Ck it out.
