When eating ANYTHING, take smaller bites. Make each bite just large enough to "taste" the food and chew. You will get more enjoyment out of what you are eating and your meal will last longer which will allow your body to signal that you are full and help to prevent you from eating as much.

Taste and smell: Understand smell is a large portion of flavor & eat mindfully
Nearly 90% of what we call taste is actually what we smell. Use this to your advantage by eating slowly and mindfully. Savor your food. Smell it before putting it into your mouth. Chew thoroughly. Experience it with all of your senses. This will allow you to experience pleasure, satisfaction and satiety, and reduce overeating.
70 to 90% of taste is actually the sense of smell. Colds and other problems that affect smell reduce the ability to taste foods. Spices can add additional flavor. Smell can also serve as a warning for tainted foods.
