This Sparked Me!

I recently hit a mental plateau - my body and my mind were not in agreement with my workout regime. My mind decided it was bored with what we were doing and made it real easy to cut my workouts short. I needed a new plan of action - totally revamped my workout.

I am incorporating jump roping, treadmill, walking outside, weight lifting, using body weight, just mixing it up daily to not only shake myself up mentally, but physically as well.

Rejuvenating the mind and the body. emoticon

I found myself in the same situation just yesterday. So, today, I changed my walking route and I started at an earlier time. I walked an extra 15 minutes today because of my changes.

I was doing great. Staying on track. Keeping in touch with my support teams, then I ran into one huge personal problem after another. I just didn't have it in me to log in everyday. So I've been writing in a journal what I eat and logging in at least 2-3 times per week. I'm not relying on just me for exercise, I have joined a yoga class and paid in advance so I'm there 3 times a week. I've also enlisted the help of my 2 kids. Summer is here so we are taking at least one day a week to go to a historical or scenic part of town to walk that way we can learn more about the history of our area and spend time together.

Trying to do this overwhelmed me as I could not do everything; and didn't want to give up what I was doing. So, I decided to aim for a certain # of fitness minutes and day and that helped a lot! Every day could be different, I didn't have to give up my favorites--but I also didn't have to do them every day! Has given me so much more flexibility and removed the feeling of not "meeting my goals": times a week, day etc. Of course, Sugar won't let me give up some things. emoticon But in the interest of being sensible; (surgery) had a friend step in there for me tonight.
