Leaving it in the store works for me. I leave alone and when I bring home snack like treats, I find that I over indulge and eat them all within a few sittings. I find that if I leave it in the store I won't be tempted to eat it

Not only do you get an A+ for leaving it in the store, but you know what? I find I forget about these foods within an hour! It's the old "out of sight, out of mind" thing. (And I'm out of my mind, too :)

Shop at the Dollar Store
My husband and I do most of our shopping at the dollar store. This includes fruits and vegetables. We buy beans and brown rice from the bulk bins at the local discount grocery store. That leaves a very few items left to buy at the regular grocery store.
Overcharged at the store? Make sure to get your money back!
A few times per month I have been overcharged for items at the store...stores of all types, grocery stores, clothing stores, general merchandise stores and such. Look over your receipt before you leave the store. Don't be afraid or lazy about getting the money back for overcharged items. I saved an additional 4 dollars on one item due to a misapplication of a coupon. It adds up!
Buying things just for the price, & you end up wasting money. Fresh fruits & veggies and other healthy food choices are always bargains for your physical & financial health. No self-control? Leave it on the grocery store shelves. If it's on sale and it's junk food, leave it at the grocery store.
