Secrets of Success

Round Up

We round to the closest 5 or 0. When we pay a bill or for any item we buy, If the total is 22 we round to 25 and "forget" about the remaining 3 dollars, If is 26 we round to 30. At the end of the year that "forgotten" money sure adds up

I've been doing this for the past four years. It has provided me with extra Christmas shopping money and even paid an unexpected bill. I make sure to reconcile my account each month BUT keep the 'extra' money out of sight (I don't write it in my check register). It's such an easy thing to do. Oh, and if I haven't spent it on a 'need' at the end of the year I transfer it over to my savings account and start fresh on January 1. - by JGMK55
  • Agreed with PP.. This one doesn't make much sense to me. Where is the forgotten money? - by ANMRUNNER
  • Forget the money where? If it's in your checkbook, how do you reconcile it monthly? - by SUSANBEAMON
