What to do about those foods you love that don't fit in with the "plan".....4
A sure set-up-to-fail technique for life is to deny yourself the indulgence of your favorite desserts, entrees, beverages, and the like. In the real world, people don't eat like this. We enjoy good food, good drink. Allow yourself to have small increments of pleasure from time to time.
Getting a food scale was one of the best decisions for me-- I realized that I was eating too large of portions. In the past when I dieted, I cut myself off completely from foods I love, but now I feel like I can have them because I know I can eat just the right about to stay on my diet, but still have the things I love!
Devin takes the food we love, ups the nutrition, lowers the calories and fat, and keeps it tasting just as good as the original. She wrote the Biggest Loser cookbooks, Fast Food Fix (which takes fast food favorites and makes them healthier), and The Most Decadent Diet Ever (my current favorite).
Without these cookbooks, I may be off the wagon by now. But she makes healthy food taste so good that I don't even want the junk any more!
