Having a craft project available helps me curb my cravings for snacks when I am bored. It kills two birds with one stone - I get the craft project done (and quickly start another) and I keep from eating out of boredom!
Instead of music I listen to audio books while working out. There's lots of places to get them free like a library or librivox.org. For me, it's motivation to workout because I'll want to know what happens next in the story. It's killing two birds with one stone; reading and exercising.
