Try using a straw to sip your water. Those wide extra long straws used for milkshakes work wonderfully. I get a thrill knowing that a tool created by the fast food industry to trick me to drink more sugary shakes/soda faster can now do the same magic with my healthy lemon spiked water. That in itself motivates me to get in my daily water.
Read this book or listen to the audio book because it will really open up your eyes about how the use of high fat, high sugar and high salt foods in the food industry/processed foods is re-wiring our brains. I've lost 68 lbs. thanks to Dr. Kessler, SparkPeople, Leslie Sansone, and Dr. Oz. Dr. Kessler taught me ways to avoid certain foods until I have overcome my craving for them.
This book helped me Make Rules for myself in order to avoid highly palatable foods and their triggers. If you eat these foods and feel like it's getting out of control you are probably a hyperconditioned eater like me. Sample rules: "I don't eat french fries. I don't eat ice cream."
Choosing a healthier alternative to eat besides junk foods has really changed my life. I feel like I outsmarted the junk food industry when I do not eat fattening foods like candy and chips because it only leads to obesity and another human unsatisfied with life.
Do this on purpose when trying to shop at the supermarket...choose only healthy items....try avoiding close to the door items...also shop off of a list...so that focused efforts wont be in vain
