I find that having a garden helps me to eat healthier in the summer-and the winter. I use working int he garden as a form of exercise (and tanning) and then eat the veggies and fruits that come out of it.
It's a good idea to check out some books in your library about gardening. Iwould recommend organic gardening, because then you don't have pesticides or other chemicals in your food.

EATING HEALTHIER......RAW FOODS, FRESH FOODS, AS WELL AS ORGANIC! NO PROCESSED!
EATING HEALTHIER TAKES MAKING GOOD, HEALTHIER CHOICES FOR YOUR BODY. SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT ALL THE TREES GOD MADE INTO THE EARTH WERE NOT JUST FOR DECORATION. WHAT WAS ON THE TREES OR VINES WAS REAL NUTRITION. BEFORE YOU EAT SOMETHING FROM A BOX REMIND YOURSELF OF THE NUTRITION FRESH FOODS HAVE!
I love fresh food from the garden and that is winding down now. Have sweet potatoes to dig, 3 melons, peanuts, carrots, peppers, and a few tomatoes. I am going to have fresh food during the winter. I have lettuce, spinach, peppers, cucumbers, blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes in my garage and i am going to keep them going, I hope. There is nothing better than what you grow. Does anyone else grow during the winter in the cold regions?
267If you don't have space for a full size garden, a great way to incorporate fresh food into your diet is to plant container gardens. The accomplishment of growing & nurturing a tomato, pepper, carrot...plant or seed to produce nutrient rich, flavorful fresh food can't be beat.
Clay pots are usually less expensive & plant boxes are good for herbs and miniature carrots. It's really easy I promise you. I had my 1st container garden on a concrete patio outside my apartment years ago. That is how my passion for gardening started. It's that first flavor explosion bite, Enjoy!
