Volunteer
I don't get "paid" to volunteer but I get quite a few "perks". I get a "free" lunch (yes I know-no such thing as a "free lunch") when I volunteer at the hospital. I received a membership to the historical society because I volunteer there. Plus there's the volunteer recognition lunches, etc. each year.

Help others, help yourself, get rewarded in more ways than one! 41
Sometimes, you've got to be a little bit selfish and that's not bad. Putting yourself second to everyone else makes your goals suffer and it makes you resent them.
Put yourself first. Take care of yourself. Then you can help others. Don't let what others want become an excuse to not get what you need or what you want.
You'll be able to help others better if you're taking care of yourself!
