The more red onion you eat, the lower your blood-sugar glucose levels will be. They are beneficial to gastrointestinal health. Red onions also reduce inflammation in the blood vessels. Onions have sulfur compounds, & the minerals calcium, magnesium. Onions can inhibit the development of cancerous cells, &have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that can relieve a stomach ache. Try a red onion brocolli salad, a sandwich, in soups, mixed with other steamed veggies. Love Them!
Use old pantyhose to store onions. Put onion in pantyhose, tie a knot, add another onion, etc., until full. Then hang the "onionhose" in a dry place. Onions need to be separated from each other to keep from spoiling and last longer this way.
