I bought seltzer water and I love sauvignon blanc. I've begun filling my glass half way with zelzer water, adding ice cubes then the wine - totally has cut down on my wine intake and I still feel like I'm indulging
I have a real problem with night time binging, and I've found that a small glass of wine helps me stop. Not only does it kind of ruin my appetite for any of my trigger foods (sugary things), it puts me right to sleep!
How many of you have opened a bottle of wine to get 1/2 cup for a recipe- then had the bottle go bad before you drank it? How many of you have opened a bottle of wine & decided it really wasn't that great other than possibly for cooking? (how many recipes can you make requiring wine? Right?) How about all those partial bottles left from a party? With this handy tip- you'll never allow wine to go to waste again, plus it will always be handy in pre-measured amounts- right at your fingertips
After discussing it with everyone online, it is pretty well agreed that alcohol puts weight on us. IMHO, it ain't the calories of the alcohol what's doin' it, it's the chemical effect. I quit drinking for 3 months late last year and lost 30 lbs. I quit in 2005 and lost some 40 lbs.
We love going to opening receptions for art exhibitions. There is always food--usually healthy stuff like veggies, fruit, and cheeses and sometimes wine (stay away from the soda and junk). Dinner, entertainment, social interaction, and learning and seeing new stuff. It is a win on all levels!
I find that when I avoid wine, I lose weight. It's not rocket science. After a couple glasses of wine, I eat unhealthy foods or too much food. I usually have wine on weekends, but then I find that all my week long efforts and weight loss are squashed by my weekend antics. Not worth it.
