Atomic Fire Balls

When I'm craving something sweet, my go-to is an atomic fireball. The little red piece of candy is too hard to bite, so it lasts a long time and keeps me from overeating. At only 23 calories, it's a good deal!

My Sweet Secret

Ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper I've absolutely loved root beer floats. Eating is emotional to me, when I think of root beer floats, I think of being at my grandparent's house on a hot summer day when my grandma would make everyone an ice cold refreshing float. I still crave them today, but instead of having a full one I have a root beer shot. It's less than half the calories, with all the familiar taste.

Sweet treat with your coffee/tea

I crave something sweet on my break. For a while I was eating a 100-calorie bag of mini-cookies. But I found something better for me. I toast one slice (21 gr.) of Schwebels Smart Light whole wheat bread (35 calories) & top it with 1/2 serving (7 gr.) of Olivio Light (25 calories) & sprinkle it with cinnamon & Splenda (virtually no calories.) I save 40 calories over a tiny bag of cookies. As a bonus my snack contains whole grain, fiber & no sugar. Weigh your bread...(click title for more info)

Put off treats until you have eaten your necessary nutrients for the day

Plan you menus. How many calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fats do you need for each day?
Then promise yourself you will not eat a treat/cheat off of your plan until and unless you have eaten all the nutrients for that day.
Just as you need fuel to drive your car, feed yourself healthy foods before you choose any extra calories.
Remember, in some cases WATER can quench both thirst AND hunger.
Congratulate yourself for each day you eat on plan!

Frozen Sweet treat!

I have a definite craving for ice cream that crops up often. To satisfy that craving and get a serving of fruit, I have frozen fruit! Granted there's no spoon involved, but its a great way to have a healthy frozen treat

Drink Diet Shasta Sodas to trick ur body (splenda!)

My body seems to think it ate something when I drink a Diet Shasta since it has splenda in it. So, I drink one when I just want something sweet but I am not really hungry. Then my body seems to get busy burning what I already own on my body since nothing new is in my tummy.

Avoiding temptation while baking

I wanted to avoid temptation while I baked my son's birthday cake, so I made sure to set a low calorie flavared water in my work area. Whenever I was tempted to taste a little frosting or piece of the cake, I drank my flavored water to satisfy the sweet temptation. It worked much better than I ever expected.

Identify Triggers

Identify what triggers you to eat and plan around it. For example, I know that mid afternoon I am going to want something sweet. So I bring some jelly beans or on biscuit with me to give me that sweet boost without going mad. I guess jelly beans might be another secret as they give a great sweet boost without having to eat loads emoticon

To satisfy my craving for sweets and chocolate and get the fiber I need, I have one Fiber One Chewy bar (my favorite is the oats & chocolate) as my snack at night with 1 cup of fat-free milk and i'm good for the night.

Sugar Substitute

LOSE THE SUGAR ADDICTION! For the word "habit" substitute "addiction." When addicted to a bad eating habit, substitute it with a GOOD addiction. When I cut added sugars out of my diet I substituted with FRESH FRUIT at or after each meal. A favorite is a quartered apple with plain cinnamon on it.

Hugs...They Are Fabulous...Yes, Really!

Put your left palm on the back of your right shoulder. Put your right palm on the back of your left shoulder. Now SQUEEZE really, really, really tight. Hold. Release when you 1) feel better, 2) stop crying, or 3) start smiling. Repeat as necessary.

Fruit can satisfy your sweet tooth!

While my self control seems to go out of the window and I feel I can't resist eating some candy, I have some fruit instead. It's hearty, satisfying, low in calories and fat, rich in fiber and usually my candy cravings go away after consuming fruit.

Good Earth Tea - Natural Sweet Treat

I crave something sweet after dinner and to avoid the extra calories I drink Good Earth Tea. It is naturally sweet so it satisfies my craving with 0 calories. It has become my "favorite" dessert. And they sell it at Costco in packs.
