"Share" Your Spark!

If you use Facebook, make use of all the "share" buttons on the SP pages you use. Keeping your friends and family up to date on your journey is not only beneficial to you, but you could be surprised at the people you just might inspire!

Sneak a Water - Call it Gin and Tonic!

I go out with my friends at least once a week for drinks. But upon seeing that a couple of gin and tonics are like 300 calories, I've put the brakes on. Now, I'm sneaking a water on the rocks with a lime (looks just like a gin and tonic), and my waistline AND my wallet are thanking me.

Conversation: I Ask A Question, You Answer/You Ask A Question, I Answer. Repeat.

Nothing is worse than trying to drag a conversation out of someone...especially if it is someone you are forced to socialize with. If someone asks you a question, answer thoughtfully and use more than "I don't know" or monosyllabic answers. At the very least, ask a question back. Example below...

Opening Receptions = FREE Food, Fun, and Learning - Just Get Out There & FInd It

We love going to opening receptions for art exhibitions. There is always food--usually healthy stuff like veggies, fruit, and cheeses and sometimes wine (stay away from the soda and junk). Dinner, entertainment, social interaction, and learning and seeing new stuff. It is a win on all levels!

Party Hearty!

You can have your cake and eat it too! Eat light before the party. Make your balanced plate. If you still want to indulge, only have a 1 or 2-bite taste of the offerings. Take half your cake or your plate home to enjoy tomorrow. Choose what you really want or know you'll enjoy. emoticon

Spark Team Check-ins

I am motivated by encouragement from others, in addition to just feeling good about myself. I try to check in with my most active Spark Team when I'm feeling like I need a kick in the butt to stay on goal, or even if I'm feeling good and want praise. Community has helped me immensely!
