Sometimes I forget and wear my newer white leather walking shoes to mow the yard. I always felt like my shoes were "ruined", but today, I wiped them down with several sheets of a generic brand of "diaper wipes" - and that worked perfectly!
Seriously this works every time. If I just don't feel like hitting the GYM I tell myself, "I'm just going to walk or do 10 minutes". Toss on your work out clothes and shoes & go out the door. I hit the gym and I am always excited that I pull through and do an amazing workout/run. I am NEVER beating myself up for going only if I don't at all!
These are, by far, the best sneakers I've ever worn. They're a little pricey, but they are definitely worth it! I didn't even have to break them in, like I've done for every other pair I've ever worn. They're so comfortable for walking shoes. It's amazing. I just had to share the good news with all of you!!!
Even if you use the same running/fitness shoes and gym bag every day, take your shoes out of the bag and let the bag and your shoes dry out when you get home from your workout. You'll decrease the chance of odors and prevent bacteria and mold from growing in places that would have otherwise stayed moist -- and in the case of shoes, that extends the life of the fabric.
So for those of you that have not tried the new Sketchers Shape-ups, you really need to. They are expensive, but in 3 weeks of wearing them, I've lost 15 pounds, and didn't really change anything else. They take some getting used to, but boy,are they worth it!

When I first started working out, I quickly realized that my running shoes were not going to cut it for activities like aerobics and Zumba. With my wide feet, I had trouble finding a good pair of cross trainers UNTIL I found Rykas. Currently wearing Assist XTs and they are fantastic!! Excellent support, plenty of room in the front, and so very comfortable.
Every Morning, first thing, even before my Coffee/Tea, and logging on SP, I get dressed, work out shoes and all. It reminds and motivates me to exercise. If you work a 9-5, change as soon as you get home, whenever it fits your schedule best. If I'm in my tennies and sweats, I feel dumb just sitting on my rump. ;)
Wearing cute, flat comfortable shoes as much as possible helps me get in more exercise. I am more likely to stand rather than sit and be more active while still looking pulled together because they are cute and don't look like track shoes. I can get exercise in without having to change shoes and I can come back from my walk and hop right into my next meeting. Some days the only exercise I manage is the daily walk at work. In heels I sit at my desk all day.
Take the time to make certain you shoes are well fitted for walking or running.

The fad shoe Fitness Craze I had to try on! And Bought. I can definitely feel and see a difference in my posture, calves, gluts. I compare it to walking and standing on a Balance Board while having them on.
These are special massaging gel *sport* insoles. It appears they are a bit wider to fit in the toe box of an athletic shoe. I was getting some irritation in my foot where the insole stopped before the side of the shoe. I have really high arches and I can feel the arch support. So far so good.
In the 27 years I've been wearing shoes, I never bought a pair in wide till today. I went to a store where they watch you run and analyze your movement to figure out your needs. Then they measure you. I never realized how much my feet ached in my old shoes till I ran in the new pair.
I've been wearing these for two weeks now, both in the gym and walking around. LOVE THESE SHOES. I feel more connected to the workout, more comfortable moving around. These are minimalist shoes, and not for everyone of course, but for those who get on with them, you will love them.
These shoes are wonderful. I wear them to work every day and can really feel a difference in my legs. They are pricey, but it's worth it. When these shoes wear out, I will definitely get another pair. They are so comfortable and only took a couple days to get used to them.
