The Dress

For motivation, I think when we gain weight, it's like wearing a dress that's too large for a while. We may not like the look of it and we'd rather not wear it, but we can change the color and pattern. Then with perseverance and work, the dress gets smaller, inch by inch.

But that dress isn't really who we are inside, just the outer layer. We are all worthy of respect, love and encouragement, no matter how large it is, how long we wear it, or what it's made of, plain cotton or fine satin.

Be Happy As You Are

Be happy as you are. It was only after I stopped thinking about this journey as a path to eventual happiness that I was able to really commit. I am happy as I am. I'm not losing weight because I dream of being the perfect sized me that can one day shop in Forever 21. No, I'm happy as I am. And it is now, when I've probably had the highest self -esteem ever that I can really commit to this. This is for my health, I won't become discouraged with the scale b/c it's a lifestlye change. Weigh to Show

At the point when my clothes loosen up on me and then frankly started to swim, I faced what was I to do with the clothing I had that were part of what is no longer.

I have been giving them to a local food bank for the women who may still be @ a weight where the clothes would fit. My wish was they could have as much pleasure as I had wearing them if it helps to throw the shoulders back even for a minute.

Good self-esteem will protect you

Recently I was hurt badly by someone I thought was a friend and I realized that if my self-esteem is solid, things like that will feel just like a mosquito bite! Annoying and nothing else. emoticon

A Post-It A Day!

Having a positive attitude causes you to have a better outlook on life and on your quest to be healthier. By posting positive notes around the house, you are continuing to surround yourself with positivity. I post my notes around my bedroom and on my bathroom mirror each day of something happy. These are two places that I go to for refuge when I may be having a rough day. Reading the notes helps me to take a look and see what I should be thankful for and to begin back on the right track.
