In a Rut

“If you find yourself stuck in a rut, don’t dig yourself deeper in with negative thoughts. Turn your thoughts to God, ask for His strength to sustain you, and keep your focus on the good things that lie ahead of you. By relying on God and keeping your thoughts positive, you’ll be moving forward again before you know it.” – Elmer Laydon

Realistic Fitness Goals

I was unhappy with the time I was spending in my workouts - For weeks I felt disappointed if I wasn't doing 2 hour workouts - I have the time and resources - so no matter how much time I did do, it was always as though I could always do more. Today I reset my fitness goals, joined a group that only requires 30 minutes of cardio and 1 video per day. I know that setting this more realistic goal now when I go 5 - 10 min over I can celebrate an additional victory - these will boost my self esteem.

Try something new!!

This is a great idea to fit into any part of your life you are feeling has the "same old, same old" feel. Try a new exercise or activity if you're getting bored. Try a new fruit or veggie, or just a new recipe if your meals are feeling blah. You can even try something new on the motivational side!!

Dance out of the rut

When you're in a mental rut, put on music ... stand up and move to it while you try to think things through. Before you know it you'll be dancing & happy & active again. emoticon
