All the World is a Stage...

Are you going through a spell where it's just too difficult to meet daily goals, or you just don't feel like it anymore? Then act "as if." Act as if you've already lost the weight, no matter what the scale says. Act as if you've already run a 10K, even if it's a pain to get off the couch. Smile even if you don't feel like smiling. If you act the part, it's easier to imagine those yet-to-be-achieved goals as a future reality. If you dream it, you can be it!

Keep focus on things you CAN control

Sometimes the scale or the mirror don't cooperate with our preconceived expectations of where our hard work with exercise and food intake should have us - for any given time period. ( some call these plateaus) When this happens to me I focus on making sure I am giving my body what it needs..8 hours rest, 8 glasses water daily. regular exercise, and plenty of fruits and veggies. I keep in mind that weightloss is a symptom of healthy living and I am NOT on a diet!

In it for the long haul

To keep with my healthy program, I had to concede that this was a lifestyle change emoticon I've had to put away the four letter word, diet. It's not a diet-it's permanent. It's about me making good choices so that I'll live a healthier life and hopefully be around to see my grandchildren grow up. Part I: watch what I eat; stop eating junk! Part II: Exercise at least 5 days a week. Part III: If I have a setback, don't sweat it; get up dust off my pants and get back on the horse!

Goal Setting and Vision Boards

Life is busy, but the good thing about having goals is that they don't have to be long and drawn out. They can be short enough just to give you that feeling of success and accomplishment, that jumpstart you need to spring board you into where you are trying to get to and where you wanna be. Vision boards are good because it allows creativeness and keeps the picture right there in front of you and helps you to maintain your focus. Start the year off with a positive mental attitude for success.

Staying Positive

I refuse to use words like diet, cheat, restrictions and rules. This time is about making changes for the good and for good. I want a better life; a healthier life & I can't do it by focusing on the negative. I'm positive I can do this. emoticon

Parking Your Car

Instead of searching for the parking space closest to the door, look for a spot furthest away. I find it less stressful and a few more steps couldn't hurt.

Try mindfulness

I use mindfulness meditation to help me step away from negativity and look at it more objectively. It's helped a lot to control frustration and to stay on track.

Write the positive

I have a journal that I write three positive steps that I took that day towards a healthier lifestyle. Sometimes, it's the only thing that I write in the journal, sometimes I write more. But if I'm ever feeling down or need a reminder on how far I have come, I can look at that journal.
