Playing with My Dog!

Everyday my dog demands his nightly walk and on weekends, he knows he gets some off-leash frisbee time. He never lets me forget about it or slack off! I get exercise and it just feels good to know I'm doing something good for both of us!

Stress Less

To take away stress and tension I remove myself from the situation by walking with Sparkie my puppy. Long walks soothe us both. Some how the fresh air and time spent with a friend makes for a better day. Unconditional Love can do wonders for ones morale emoticon

Litter Locker II - Cat Owner must have!

I know this isn't healthy lifestyle related, but I have to give a good review to the Litter Locker contraption. It stores waste that you scoop from your cat box in a odor blocking way. It uses a system similar to the Diaper Genie with bags and a compartment that both help block the scent. I now have 1 less thing to stress about - because it makes keeping the litter box sanitary so much easier. emoticon

Stains

If you spray a mist of windex on almost any spot on carpet or furniture and let start scrubbing it right away it comes off like it was never there emoticon it comes in handy alot in our house since the puppy tracks in mud

Hairballs

One of our cats has terrible hairball issues. We've tried all the normal remedies, to no avail.

The vet told us to try using 1/4 tsp of Miralax mixed with canned food in hopes of making the hair come out the other end.

Holidays and pets

Make sure to pay attention to your pets during the hustle & bustle of the holidays. With all of the changes and new sites and smells going on in their environment, it can be quite a stressful time for pets. Be aware that your pet may "act out" or do things they wouldn't ordinarily do, like chew on or get into things. Electric cords, tinsel, glass ornaments, candles, spray on-snow (some are non-toxic-read the label), ribbons, plastic or foil wrapping, etc. can be very dangerous to your pet.

Get a Dog!

Knowing that my dog needs to get some of his boundless energy out gets me out the door for a nice long walk. He's happy and I'm happy and we're both healthier!

Walking

When I don't feel like walking I tell my dogs that we are going for a walk. They understand what that means and their excitement is enough to get me excited. If the excitement weren't quite enough then the thought of how disappointed they would be if we didn't go and the looks I would get would be.

Unstress yourself with animals

Tough day at the office? Laid off and no office? Give a cat or dog some affection. Animals can help you de-stress and lower your blood pressure.
If you can't have an animal with you in your home, volunteer a bit of time at your local shelter. The animals appreciate it, and you'll feel better too.

Make a Dog Smile

There's no better motivation than a smile. You can make a dog smile and get in some much needed active minutes by just hooking on that leash and taking off! They need the activity too and if your dog is an active breed it gives them a job and alleviates boredom. Plus, you watch...they'll smile!
