I remind myself "What I REALLY want matters more than what I want right NOW."
If we see the exact same event from a different perspective we will see an entirely different event. We cannot control the wind... but we CAN control our sail as it catches the wind. If at the end of the day, I feel like I've made lots of bad choices, I look at my reports-in particular daily calorie differential. Even though you shouldn't use it everyday, alot of the time, I find that I have still burnt off 100kcal more than I ate, or that I'm actually level. This makes me more determined for the next day. I don't weigh myself the next day either-as a fellow sparker once said: your weight today is not a result of your actions yesterday.
You are not perfect. No one is. (Sorry if I just burst your bubble.) You're not going to turn into a svelte model overnight. Make little changes to your life habits and make them STICK. So what if you had an extra cookie or 3 today? You've been winning so many other little battles along the way that those cookies aren't going to make you put up your white flag. Keep it in perspective, reference your game plan (goals), and march on!
Change the way you think about weight loss-when you brush your teeth, it's probably best to wait at least 30min before eating/drinking anything else to help your teeth re-mineralize. I've found that this helps me fend off the desire for post-meal snacks and beverages.
