Vision Board & GOALS

I "vision collaged" my back of the door mirror, this way I "SEE" it all the time!!! Everyday, sometimes several times a day! Foods, Exercises, Physically fit bodies, places I want to go and things I want to do!! Anything that is something to strive for or look forward to I put it on the edge of that mirror. SO when I do that one last check in the mirror before I sweep out the door I know what I want in LIFE!!! EVerything I want to live for is there: Prayer, Familiy, Friends.Healthy Lifestyle!

Off the couch, on the floor..

Determined to stay off the couch in the evening after a long day and exercise, I found if I sit on the floor I end up doing all my Calisthenics, yoga poses and stretching, while hanging with hubby and enjoying our tv show.

Buttons!

From now on, I'm going to sew the extra buttons that come with clothing onto an inconspicuous place on the clothing! That way, if a button gets lost, I'll immediately know where to look for a replacement!

Just walk or 10 minutes...

Seriously this works every time. If I just don't feel like hitting the GYM I tell myself, "I'm just going to walk or do 10 minutes". Toss on your work out clothes and shoes & go out the door. I hit the gym and I am always excited that I pull through and do an amazing workout/run. I am NEVER beating myself up for going only if I don't at all!

Review and Tweak the Plan~

Whenever i'm getting off track or even when i'm feeling a little bored I look over my old blogs. Almost all of them give me a more positive perspective or solutions to what I want to tweak or change. Should I not feel more empowered or motivated to a new direction then I hit some of my SP friends blogs.

A Place for Everything, and Everything In It's Place

This is so true. The only way that I can be organized on an on-going basis is to set up an organizational system. I now have a to-be-filed bin. I never let it get too big or too daunting. If I did, I wouldn't want to bother with it. This way I find things when I need them (95% of the time). I have a bad memory, so this system is especially helpful for me. Just find an organization method that works for you, and stick to it!

1/2 that portion...Break
fast,
Lunch, Dinner

Half that portion! I half the portion of whatever i'm about to eat. If it can't be halved without wasting part then I don't eat it Example: Sandwich you can half & save for later...cookie you would have to share if a person is available or throw the half away if you have no one to share it with. IF I would have to waste it then I don't eat it. Planning!

No Mail clutter

When the mail comes in, I stand by the bucket and go through it right then and sort it. The bills get put in one area for the day of payment; junk mail gets tossed right away; and then another pile for the things I looked at and want a longer look (magazines, catalogues, etc). I toss all envelopes and unnecessary paper right then and there

Fast breakfast that tastes like dessert!

Fast -- 1/2c chocolate soy milk (light, pre measured and frozen is best), blend with half a banana, 1tsp honey, couple drops of vanilla and a bit of flax seed. --- yummo!

Scan/Shred/Recy
cle

It's really hard for me to throw away paperwork - always afraid I'll need it. I'm using a free pdf maker program on my pc and scanning documents, filling them on a portable hard drive, and then shredding the paperwork. Periodically I backup onto DVD's. I also recycle the shredded paperwork to get it out of the house.

Getting Organized

I had a huge problem with organizing, and then I hired a professional organizer and she gave me a tip that is actually working for me.. After getting organized, when you bring some thing new into the house, eg..lamp, clothes, books, videos what have you, then one item must leave the house..It is a simple little rule but it actually works wonders, so now I have a box beside the door, and when I bring some thing new in, I take some thing else and put it in the box for donations..

Paperless organizing.

We use a software program called Paperless to scan receipts to keep track of spending, entering amounts into categories like groceries, utilities, repairs, etc. By clicking on a category, one can see the total spent on, say, medical expenses, for that year. One can enter online canceled checks as PDF files. We also scan important documents, like insurance policies & credit card agreements. With a few clicks we can find account numbers & provisions if needed.... (click title for more info)

Organize in an Orderly Fashion

Everyone says to get rid of things, but try this if you like, go thru your house and get all the Good Will items out, then go thru and get items for eBay, then go thru and get the items for Craig's List, then for your local people in need items, it not only organizes things but more it organizes in an orderly fashion.

Organizing skills for ADHD people

The book, "Organizing from the inside out" is a superb book in helping one start to get orgazined and stay organized no matter what the problem. It is excellent. This is the first time in my life when I feel hopeful, that I will be able to get organized and stay organized. It is working already in my home. emoticon emoticon

This is for owners of 'Smartphones'

I was just recently able to get a smartphone. I have found numerous apps that are almost all FREE and they help me track all of my food no matter where I am, manage my finances, exercise, make my shopping lists, organize my house, etc. If you have a smartphone, use it to its fullest capacity!

How often do you hear: "What's For Dinner?!?"

Every Saturday night, I make my husband sit down with me and create a 'Dinner Menu' for the week. I make dinners according to the schedule and we're never sitting there wondering 'What'd you want for dinner???' I allow myself one night off from cooking dinner. I call it 'WHATEVER WEDNESDAY!"

Where to find the Warrenty Paper Purchase Receipts

Now a days you get a receipt that has the warranty right on it. I found a way not to lose those. I use one of those clear plastic baseball card holders and in each spot for a card is a receipt of an item. I use labels to note what the receipt is for, then put it in a manilla folder marked Warrenty

Small Actions over time = big results

Just like with weight loss, you need not tackle all your organizational issues at once. Try 15 minutes a day, and you'll find yourself with 105 minutes (1 hr, 45 mins!) per week of organizational work.
