Try a new food

Once a week, pick up a fruit or veggie you've never tried before or have been curious about then look up ways to prepare it. I picked up a pomegranate when they were on sale and found out not only are the seeds a beautiful color but I actually enjoy munching on them. Tart, sweet with a bit of crunch. And are very low in sodium.

Try something new!!

This is a great idea to fit into any part of your life you are feeling has the "same old, same old" feel. Try a new exercise or activity if you're getting bored. Try a new fruit or veggie, or just a new recipe if your meals are feeling blah. You can even try something new on the motivational side!!

New Clothes - Wash With Vinegar to Set The Dye

I love bright colors & black clothes, but I don't like seeing them fade and get dull. What I do is on the first wash, I put the new garment in the washer with 1 cup of white vinegar. This sets the dye and prevents fading. You can but don't have to use detergent--it's all about setting the dye.

Opening Receptions = FREE Food, Fun, and Learning - Just Get Out There & FInd It

We love going to opening receptions for art exhibitions. There is always food--usually healthy stuff like veggies, fruit, and cheeses and sometimes wine (stay away from the soda and junk). Dinner, entertainment, social interaction, and learning and seeing new stuff. It is a win on all levels!

Forgiving Yourself

We all carry baggage that led us to make the bad decision to overeat. While it's harder to resolve the problems that held us down, we must forgive ourselves for using food as an emotional bandage. Forgiving yourself means accepting your past and accepting you will make mistakes in the future.

Try New Things

I try at least 1-2 new recipes every couple weeks. Sometimes it is something completely new and other times it is something that I have adapted to be more healthy. I don't even have the same meal more than once a month.
