Sometimes it really helps to just get outside and watch eagles in nature. It truly can soothe the soul to see a majestic bald eagle soaring around, diving into the Mississippi River and catching a fish. Nature is amazing!
If you're like me, you have a lot of nature trails near your house. If you're not sure, check with your local conservation center. Don't let the fact that you don't know the route be an excuse not to go. You can always turn around and go back instead of making a loop! Go with a friend the first few times. It's easy go a little farther each time because you're excited to discover more :) Bring a camera along in case you see wildlife or if you're in the right location, hunt for fossils :D
I just love knowing working in the yard that you tend to loose weight and tone. I get rewards in knowing that I am getting plenty of exercise and transforming my yard to beauty. It is the feeling of accomplishment or satisfaction knowing I did something for my home. The more I worked outside getting the fresh air and the sunshine the better I felt about myself.
Check out the maintained nature trails in your area. They make a great change in routine, and they can be a lot of fun! Take the dog, the kids, the spouse, maybe even the in-laws, if they are likely to get lost enroute.... :D
It can be tough to get up early each morning to exercise. I whether or not my main routine is indoors, I found that if I get outside to do a quick jog or go for a walk, I am much more motivated and energized!
I find that by doing one or more of these things I am much more positive: getting outside and letting the warmth of the sun soak into my bones, listening to the birds, watching the clouds roll by, looking at and smelling the flowers enjoying a view
