I am in college and it is hard to find time to do everything. So, I get my organic milk sent to my door every month. You can do this by going onto Amazon.com.

Oatmeal with bananas or Greek Yougurt with Granola

I have fallen in love with yogurt all over again, now that I am using the plain, nonfat version. I will add some honey or agave syrup to sweeten; sometimes I even use TruVia. Then I top it off with some honey oats cereal.l

My second favorite breakfast is oatmeal cooked in milk. Again, I choose my sweetener and I cut up a bananna in the bowl and sprinkle liberally with cinnamon. These two meals can take care of my hunger for quite a while before my morning snack.

Attack of the ICE CREAM CRAVING!!

When I'm craving something sweet and cold, I go for about 1/2c of organic frozen dark cherries, put them in a bowl with about a 1/4c of almond milk (or skim or soy or yogurt even) and eat them up!
The milk semi freezes the cherries and it's almost like Cherry Garcia ice cream.... only really good for you!

Bun 10 cup Coffee Maker - Terrible

I paid about $80 on sale for a bun 10-cup coffee maker. We have the professional Bun 2 pot coffee maker at the church and it is fast and wonderful. I was tired of my old one & bought this expensive one. It overflows when you use more than 6 spoons of coffee with the full pot. If I make it with 8 cups and just under the 6 spoons, it's ok, but when I have company & want more, I have a huge mess every time.

Just Add Water!

Once in a while I have a taste for full fat dressing and I just can't bring myself to eat a whole serving and take the hit from the fat and the calories! So, I get half the serving size and add that same amount of water to it. I mix it up on a little saucer and pour it over my salad. My sister thinks it's gross, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. If restaurants can do it and get away with it so can I! emoticon

Tastier milk

I'm not a big milk drinker but I know I needed to add more calcium and Vitamin D to my diet. For a tastier milk I started mixing 1/2 vanilla-flavored soy milk and 1% milk. I've noticed I drink more milk this way.

Find healthy swaps

If you like..
* ice cream, find a healthier version (I like Dreyer's double churned no sugar added)
* fried chicken, find a baked version that you like
* high salt & fat snacks, try salted dry roasted edamame

There are always better options!

Tracking

Make sure you accurately track all your meals.
A set of kitchen scales, to weigh things like rice and pasta, is an absolute must.
It is easy to miss calories by not tracking correctly. eg
cups of coffee with milk and sugar three cups a day is just over 100 calories, if you have a biscuit more calories.

Lactose Intolerant AWESOME

Yogurt is easier to digest than regular milk, so if you're lactose intolerant but you want some calcium and protein, give it a try! Also, if you like milk but hate the tummy aches (and hate soy milk), try lactose-free milk. It's sweeter, tastes similar. I actually like it better (and no tummy aches)

Drinking a cup of fat free/skim milk with breakfast or a snack helps amp up the protein and calcium for your day.

Instead of creamer, use dry milk

If you prefer dry creamer in your tea/coffee, why not try dry milk instead? It's lower in calories, no fat and has protein too!

Skim Plus Milk - 34% more Calcium and 37% more Protein

Creamy, great-tasting fat free milk with 34% more calcium and 37% more protein than regular milk. According to their website: "The Plus is in the Taste!". I heard about this on TV but they do not sell on the West Coast. They only sell it back East. I'm hoping that will change soon. www.skimplus.com
