reading the book

reading the book definitely helped ease me in to the vast array of information on this site. I came across the book at my library by accident. The one time where an accident ended up being a great thing

Get Kindle books free

Some Kindle books are free on amazon.com and other sites. In addition, they are putting many in public libraries where you check them out online and then return them. The best thing is that you don't have to own a Kindle - you can use your PC or smartphone to read them.

Quiet Times during your workout

I prefer to work out in the mornings, but that's also when I prefer to have my quiet times, since the kids aren't up yet. Here's a way to combine the two: LISTEN to scripture while working out. I play the audio files on my iPhone while I'm on the Elliptical, praying before/after while stretching/cooling down. This gives me the spiritual and physical charges I need each morning. No matter what the day holds, I know that I started it out right! emoticon emoticon

Your library needs your help

Please donate to your local library. Many are in financial trouble. Estimate what it would cost you for all the magazines, books, DVD rentals, etc. that you sign out in one year. If everyone donated even a small fraction of that, the libraries might be able to stay afloat.

As memorial gifts, instead of sending flowers that are going to die within days, donate to the library to buy a book on a subject that interested the deceased.....(Click on the title for more info.)

Free Admission

Short on cash? Want to go someplace fun? Check your public library: See if they have passes for free or reduced admission to local museums and attractions. Typically they allow for a family of 2 children and 2 adults. Great Staycations!

Use the library!

I get a lot of books, videos and movies (DVDs)and CDs from my local library. Yes- I have to sometimes wait quite a while for some things but it beats having to shell out money I don't really have. Also they sometimes offer free programs, etc.

Support your local public library

Public libraries are fabulous free resources for you and your children. You can borrow books, movies, audios, even museum passes at most of them. Be an advocate for your local library today! Write, call, e-mail a senator, or representative and let them know how much you care.

Library Finds!

Many times your local library has DVDs, movies, exercise videos, magazines, and music in addition to books. This is a great way to preview these things and decide if you're really going to use that exercise video enough to spend $20 on it!
