Read The Labels!

Simply by reading labels you can lower the calories you eat. It may be easy to eat a cookie, "cuz its only one, it can't be that bad"....but if you read the label and see that its 400 cal...I promise, it won't taste as sweet.

Cheap Warming Tray No Electricity and Party Helper

A metal cupcake pan bottom of stainless kitchen sink...put a few tea lights in pan. Space candles as needed.
Put a metal cookie tray that overlaps the sink...leaving air gaps along sides. The tray got warm pretty quickly and it was perfect for keeping our mugs of coffee/cocoa warm in a cold room when the power went out. The tea lights last for hours. CAUTION: Tray can get HOT depending on number of candles and an open flame is a fire hazard...the more candles, the more heat.

Eight 8oz Waters?!?

If were like me drinking eight 8oz waters was a chore. I figured out my problem....it was a mind game! I do better by buying the liter bottles of water or using a 32oz cup to drink my water out of.

Remember there is 8oz to 1cup! 32oz divided by 8oz is 4cups. Here you are already half way there. I only have to refill once to get my full 8cups in! emoticon

I sometimes finding myself filling in a third and sometimes a fourth time through my day too emoticon

Success doesn't come to you, you go to it.

Realize that ...Success doesn't come to you, you go to it.
So therefore it's apparent that success is something you get on purpose after working hard to get to it. It's not just going to happen no matter how deserving of success one may be, it will still elude you unless you go and get it. So get up and go get it! It's waiting for you!! It's waiting for me!

POWER IN NUMBERS!!

I recently went on my FB and sent out a message looking for people to exercise with for five days a week after my work-out buddy and i developed conflicting schedules. To my surprise so many people were looking for the same thing. I find myself wanting to do even more so now I am exercising at home on my bike watching an hour long t.v. show first thing in the morning before I leave with a friend to where ever. Its great I'm able to be more motivated and its creating a lil club of our own!!

fill fuller

i drink one 8 oz glass of water before I put any food in my mouth. Makes me fill fuller quicker and I notice I am not hungry after eating my small meals or snacks. I never get headaches anymore ( dehydration is the number one reason for headaches) and I don't get thirsty anymore either ( which is your bodies way of telling you are already dehydrated) Water is a huge help for many things!!

Positive Outlook on Eating

Never think of yourself as "on a diet" or "restricting what you eat". These are negative ways of looking at eating. Instead you need to see that you are "choosing healthy foods" and "living a healthy lifestyle". Food can be a very positive experience in our lives but we must remember to keep all things in moderation. Just by changing your outlook to a more positive one will help motivate you to keep eating healthy. Food is delicious and can be enjoyed even if you are watching what you eat. emoticon

Excuses.... How to deal with them

Don't let Yourself use an excuse. Would you accept an excuse from a spouse or child? Well, in most circumstances, No! You must push forward without excuses. Excuses have cost you months, Years.....and hopefully not your life eventually.

There is no place for an excuse where Determination should be. Get honest with yourself and stop doing to yourself what you would never let others do to you.

Keep it simple and let's get this done. Health is your reward

One of the greatest ways to find support and encouragement is from others who share your same goals. A great icebreaker is to join teams that interest you. There you will already find great people whom you have something in common with right away!! emoticon emoticon

Help others = Help yourself

When giving time to help others, it helps one to be more positive about one's own life. We feel good about helping others. And we see that our own problems aren't as bad as we think they are.

Would you please help me?

That is it. What?, you ask. The title of this secret, that's what. Whenever you need help from friends and family members, ask for it. Most people don't want to hurt or offend others. So when your best friend insists you try a piece of her freshly made pie, you'll say yes. Don't do it. Don't sell your friend short. She wants to help you if she can. She just needs to know you really need it. Ask your friend for their help. Just say, could I ask for your help? and explain what you need.

Exercising in front of the mirror

Sometimes the exercise routine you are doing bores you, ore you're just not motivated! If music doesn't help me, i try exercising in front of the mirror. It helps me do the exercises more correctly, and at the same time see the positive changes in my body. emoticon

Use Measuring Cups when serving foods instead of Spoons

We have all kinds of utensils for serving foods, but if we just use measuring cups to serve then we know exactly what we are eating, instead of guessing.

Make A List of Alternate Activities to Eating

I have a list of alternate activities to eating posted on my refrigerator. I look at it and do one of them when I am tempted to overeat. On that list I have things like exercise, reading, knitting, listening to music, guided imagery, dance around the room, play with my cats, play a computer game, etc.
