I am usually bored with most exercises. Exercise is especially hard during the winter months in Wisconsin. I am Native American and I am passionate about dance. So I found a way to make exercise fun. I go to YouTube and find a Pow Wow playlist and I play it while I dance around my house. Pow Wows aren't just for Native American people either. If you go to a Pow Wow they have dances called Intertribal where everybody regardless of race or clothes can get up dance. So everybody let's Pow Wow dance!

I'm more likely to stick with an exercise routine if it's fun, so I participate in activities that make me want to work out! Examples: Roller Skating, Swimming, playing games like Dance Central, Fruit Ninja, and YSFE 2012 or Biggest Loser on the Xbox Kinect.

Entertaining exercise at home! I was introduced to Leslie Sansone walking DVDs right after I joined SparkPeople. I find that she is entertaining, and a 2-mile walk flys by! I have to credit a good portion of my success in sticking with the exercise to these workouts.
The other day I was in the library (I go there a lot for books, movies, and free WiFi), and I realized--Hey, they have workout DVDs I can check out for free here! So, I checked out "Bollywood Burn" and went home and tried it. It was fun and free! I know I'm not the only one who craves variety, and utilizing your local library is a great way to keep your workout fresh and exciting for free! I can't wait to try more!

Choose things that you enjoy doing for exercise. This will not only allow you to see exercising as fun, but you will be more likely to exercise consistently.

Even when it seems like it's too hot outside to do anything productive...there is always a pool open somewhere. Swimming is a great way to burn calories without much effort. Just treading water helps burn those pesky calories in a jiffy. I went swimming for an hour yesterday then tracked it on here and it ended up being over 1000 calories burned. Last one in is a rotten egg!
Doing something fun will keep you motivated, especially when you get results!

Someone brought in cookies at work. Cathy took one & bit it. Then she looked over her shoulder at her hip & said, " how did you get down there? I haven't even swallowed yet & there you are." We had a riotous laugh.

When you feel cant see how far you have come, or how much weight you have lost, go to the store. Pick up a bag of pet food or kitty litter that weighs as much as you have lost (or multiple bags if need be). Walk up and down that isle once and you will see just how far you have come!

Single mom of 13 yr old girl here. I taught her about roller skating (quads, old school) and she loves it. We joined local roller derby leagues! Very good exercise and she pushes me when I don't want to move. We also have started biking together. Keeps her out of trouble and keeps me active.

You are your greatest champion Staying positive is mandatory for weight loss. When all else seems bazaar, stay true to yourself by remembering the reasons why you want to lose weight. In other words, do not let your circumstances control your weight.. Do it for you, do it for you!!!

I detest drinking water. It's boring. I decided to add cucumber and lemon slices to a pitcher of water. It tastes great, and feels fancy. Add more or less lemon and cucumber depending on your tastes.

Need more motivation to get in the gym? I find that I am more dedicated to "gym time" because of all the fun group fitness classes. Zumba, Dance, Bootcamp, Step Aerobics, Spinning, you name your gym might have it! Seeing people that are different from me whether younger or older, smaller or larger doing the exercises with such dedication makes me step my game up! I can get an hour workout in and make new friends, who could ask for more?

Belly Dancing Hip Scarf and House cleaning
To make cleaning fun --- I took out my belly dancing hip clanging/ jingling/shimming scarf and I wiggle to good, fast music and shimmy my way to a cleaner home and have fun at the same time. I might not be a good dancer but I like the uniform of a belly dancer.

Cardiovascular exercise is excellent for strengthening your heart and lungs as well as being a great fat burner. But you don't have to stick to running or speed walking to do it. Try dancing, hula hooping, jumping rope or calisthenics. They're fun ways to sweat and burn calories!
