I recently went on my FB and sent out a message looking for people to exercise with for five days a week after my work-out buddy and i developed conflicting schedules. To my surprise so many people were looking for the same thing. I find myself wanting to do even more so now I am exercising at home on my bike watching an hour long t.v. show first thing in the morning before I leave with a friend to where ever. Its great I'm able to be more motivated and its creating a lil club of our own!!
If you use Facebook, make use of all the "share" buttons on the SP pages you use. Keeping your friends and family up to date on your journey is not only beneficial to you, but you could be surprised at the people you just might inspire!
If there is a product you really like and use a lot of, or a store you shop in often, search for them on Facebook and "like" them if they have a page. Sometimes they offer deals, coupons or samples exclusively for Facebook fans.
I'm doing the Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred. Posting how many days I've done so far and how many days are left to go keeps me accountable. I can't miss a day knowing that so many people are tracking my progress!
Linking your status to Facebook does more than just give you a SparkPoint! You can recruit new Spark Buddies and get a ton more support! I've gained so many more friends on Spark because of it, and my friends on Facebook now know that I'm loosing weight,so I have my own cheer team there as well!
We love going to opening receptions for art exhibitions. There is always food--usually healthy stuff like veggies, fruit, and cheeses and sometimes wine (stay away from the soda and junk). Dinner, entertainment, social interaction, and learning and seeing new stuff. It is a win on all levels!
I link my sparkpeople account to my facebook account, so whenever I work out or lose some weight, I can immediately post the results to facebook. You won't believe how much support you'll receive from your online friends and spark them to join the site.
Each Monday, I'm taking a picture of my scale's digital reading and posting on my Facebook page. It's a great incentive to watch my weekend eating, get exercising, drink water etc Also, as my posts have gone up, more people have made comments and notice, giving lots of support
Since many people spend lots of hours on Facebook & Twitter, this can be a great way to get reminders about your goals and stay in touch with SparkPeople. We share tips, contests, updates, and generally just have lots of fun with members there too!
