I "vision collaged" my back of the door mirror, this way I "SEE" it all the time!!! Everyday, sometimes several times a day! Foods, Exercises, Physically fit bodies, places I want to go and things I want to do!! Anything that is something to strive for or look forward to I put it on the edge of that mirror. SO when I do that one last check in the mirror before I sweep out the door I know what I want in LIFE!!! EVerything I want to live for is there: Prayer, Familiy, Friends.Healthy Lifestyle!

Whenever I buy a 'snackable' food (carrots, crisps, pretzels, cookies, ect) I immediately repackage it into serving size baggies with the calories written directly on the package. That way everytime I reach for a snack I'm reminded of exactly what I'm eating!

The real power that drives motivation is the "reward" at the end. So if you are working out and not enjoying it, be aware of that and find an activity that makes you smile and you look forward to. Give yourself little goodies for your hard work.

Practice telling yourself "No!" Foods can be addictive, or just strike up cravings that we feel we must indulge on. Practice saying "NO!" and prove to yourself you don't need extra portions or unhealthy foods!

Determined to stay off the couch in the evening after a long day and exercise, I found if I sit on the floor I end up doing all my Calisthenics, yoga poses and stretching, while hanging with hubby and enjoying our tv show.

Whenever i'm getting off track or even when i'm feeling a little bored I look over my old blogs. Almost all of them give me a more positive perspective or solutions to what I want to tweak or change. Should I not feel more empowered or motivated to a new direction then I hit some of my SP friends blogs.

Shop for groceries after a good workout, you're less likely to buy junk and more likely to buy healthy items.

The size of your plate matters. The smaller the plate, the more likely your portion size will be smaller.

Never think of yourself as "on a diet" or "restricting what you eat". These are negative ways of looking at eating. Instead you need to see that you are "choosing healthy foods" and "living a healthy lifestyle". Food can be a very positive experience in our lives but we must remember to keep all things in moderation. Just by changing your outlook to a more positive one will help motivate you to keep eating healthy. Food is delicious and can be enjoyed even if you are watching what you eat.

Half that portion! I half the portion of whatever i'm about to eat. If it can't be halved without wasting part then I don't eat it Example: Sandwich you can half & save for later...cookie you would have to share if a person is available or throw the half away if you have no one to share it with. IF I would have to waste it then I don't eat it. Planning!

Before eating a big meal, start with a small salad (hold the dressing). You'll be fuller faster while eating your meal and comsume far less calories. And it helps you get in your five daily servings of veggies!

Knowing what you are going to eat day to day really helps. I have found that my breakfasts, snacks & lunches tend to be the same variation of a few good-old stand-bys, within a certain caloric/healthful range - and at the same time during each day. It also made it easier to make tracking easier by plugging in those stand-by meals into the "group section" of the nutrition tracker. One click tracking at it's finest!

Although you should learn everything possible about nutrition and good eating habits, surely portion control. It boils down to one thing maybe then two. Exercise and controlling your eating. Less in, more out.

If you ever find yourself in front of the refrigerator, maybe for the 10th time in an hour, it becomes clear that you are eating out of boredom. So I started making myself do 10 pushups (can replace with situps, crunches, jumping jacks, anything really) whenever I found myself pointlessly rummaging through the fridge. It was either A) Don't go to the fridge or B) Do 10 pushups - both outcomes helped me to lose weight!

When I want to enjoy my meal and I want to make it last, I usually eat with my other hand. I slows me down so I don't shovel down the meal in 5 minutes plus it fills me up when I take a long time to eat. I don't know, it works for me!!

I use my children's old dinner plates when eating, that way I can't put to much on my plate and over eat.
