Quick and easy way to clean grass stains off white leather shoes

Sometimes I forget and wear my newer white leather walking shoes to mow the yard. I always felt like my shoes were "ruined", but today, I wiped them down with several sheets of a generic brand of "diaper wipes" - and that worked perfectly!

Chris Powell Easy Exercise!

I loved this advice from Chris Powell, he suggested do 10 minutes every day and when you feel comfortable add 5 more minutes and et cetera. You'd think I would've thought of that, but I didn't. lol emoticon

On the Look Out for Fitness Opportunities

I'm always looking for ways to add more steps to my daily step count. I take the stairs instead of the elevator, I take the LONG way to any destination instead of the short cut . Every single step counts and they add up quickly!

Get a Cheap and Easy Spark Coach!!

Yup, Spark Coaches are free and easy!! I did the 2 week trial and the structure really keeps me moving. Now, I'm in my first 3 months for only $5 per month. Instead of flailing around on the site attempting to provide my own structure (but really just treading water), I now log into Spark Coach and it walks me through a good solid structure every day. Try it! Nothing to lose with the free trial (and you don't enter any payment info during the trial). Go for it!! :-)

Off the couch, on the floor..

Determined to stay off the couch in the evening after a long day and exercise, I found if I sit on the floor I end up doing all my Calisthenics, yoga poses and stretching, while hanging with hubby and enjoying our tv show.

SAVE clear plastic jars... esp the big ones from BJ's and other warehouse stores. Use for storage. We have various size jars with adhesive tape, pet supplies, pens, small toys, xtra spices, batteries, play jewelry in EVERY room of the house. Dust free, water & pest resistant, easy to find and look nice when lined up together on a shelf. Eliminate furniture, gain floor space. Win Win. Ask friends who work at day care, church etc to save containers. Easy peasy when its time to move or declutter.

Easy Portion Control & Money Saver

Even with the healthier whole grain Crackers, Chips, Pretzels...every good intention of sticking with the recommended serving size becomes defeat if the box is within sight. SO, I decided to count out the serving size into little baggies...now I have the right amount each time no guesswork after the meal...guilt free! Slows down my eating because what you see is what you get. Saves money buying bulk instead of individual packages and baggies can be used more than once. emoticon

Review and Tweak the Plan~

Whenever i'm getting off track or even when i'm feeling a little bored I look over my old blogs. Almost all of them give me a more positive perspective or solutions to what I want to tweak or change. Should I not feel more empowered or motivated to a new direction then I hit some of my SP friends blogs.

MOTIVATION FROM OTHERS

I have recently started a group of friends to exercise with since not everyone has schedules that match up if you have a group of exercise partners then it doesn't effect you if they "call in" you always have a back up partner and more motivation . The more the merry right??

Meat + soup + crockpot

Pretty much any kind of meat (pork roast, pork chops, chicken breast, bone-in chicken, beef roast, etc.) can be put in the crockpot with pretty much any kind of "cream of X" soup (broccoli, mushroom, onion, potato) and will become a delicious meal.

Greens (The Easy Way!)

To get some fresh fruits and vegetables into my day, I make a green smoothie every day for my afternoon snack! It's the only way I will eat my greens consistently, in fact I look forward to it every day now!
In my Vitamix, I put 3/4 cup water, 10 ice cubes, 1 ripe banana, 1/2 an apple, 1 tsp flax seeds, a big handful of organic greens (usually half baby spinach and spring mix). Then blend for one minute! Absolutely delicious! :)

Add lo-cal protein to breakfast!

My new fave product - Jimmy Dean's turkey sausage patties! Pretty cheap, 8 patties for $4! Saute w. no-cal spray, cut up & add an egg for scrambled egg sausage. 1 patty = 60 cal. They're packaged by 4s, but easy to use 1 and bag the rest til needed.

Fruit on the counter, other snacks out of sight

For snacks, make healthy options a priority with easy access. Keep a bowl of various fruit on the counter or table in easy reach. Those other snacks, if you have them in the house, keep out of sight. When you eat processed snacks, don't forget to measure out a single serving and close the rest of the bag up and put it away. Out of sight, out of mind! Less temptation! emoticon Choose the healthier option.

Don't choose the easy way out!

When in doubt, don't choose the easy way out!

It's easy to skip exercise, but the guilt is hard.
It's easy to have another helping, but hard to work those calories off.
It's easy to be negative, but hard to deal with the sadness.

Go with the harder option now to have an easier ride later.

Tough exercise is hard, but the results are good.
Lower (healthy) calorie intakes are hard, but the results are good.
Positive talk is hard, but the results are good.

Dice it up

I dice up a few onions and green pepper and put them in the fridge for the week. So when I make omelets, hot sandwiches, scrambled eggs or the other many things I like them in. I am more likely to use them because they are ready to use. I figure I add in about 2-3 servings of veggie a week that I would have skipped out on.

Come up with a few meals that are easily customizable

We all like variety, but none of us want to spend all day cooking! I have about 3 go-to meals that I can always whip up in a hurry, but they're easily customized depending on what I feel like eating. Oatmeal w/ flax seed for breakfast (add toasted, chopped nuts, maple syrup, craisins, whatever!), stir-fry for lunch (any veggies you have, egg, whatever other protein is lying around the house), or fish and veggies.
