My dogs are my secret weapon for success
My dogs need to go for walks and the oldest (16 yrs old) doesn't care to walk down the stairs any longer, so I started taking them both for short walks.

Train your dog to get you going each day at a certain time. If you can train them to sit,lay or heal you can also do this. I have and it works.

Use the 'old' boxes of baking soda from your fridge and freezer for cleaning your pots and pans, washing up after greasy or yard work, final rinse on your dogs bath, cleaning jewelry stones.

If you have a dog, they can be a great source of motivation. Going on walks several times a day will become a habit that they expect and ask for in their actions. Seeing their pleasure will help you to go for your goals too!

de-skunking dogs - forget the tomato juice and Listerine!
Mix together a quart of hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and 1-2 tsp Dawn dishwashing detergent. Add warm water as needed to make enough solution to cover the whole dog. Rub it in well with a sponge and then rinse with warm water. Repeat if necessary.

When I don't feel like walking I tell my dogs that we are going for a walk. They understand what that means and their excitement is enough to get me excited. If the excitement weren't quite enough then the thought of how disappointed they would be if we didn't go and the looks I would get would be.

When you go for a walk or a run, take your kids or dogs (if you have either!) My kids yell to me 'faster' and my dogs tell me the same by pulling on the leash. They are better coaches than even Mickey was to Rocky Balboa!

When I start to feel like I've screwed up and want to toss in the towel I look at dogs. They have the "if you fail the first time, keep trying" motto in life. If a dog wants a bone he keeps going until he gets it. Which reminds us a bad day is just a sign to get up and try again tomorrow.
