get a dog - a high-energy, smart one

seriously - get a dog along the lines of a border collie or standard poodle - the einsteins of the canine world.
you MUST walk them twice a day - such high-energy dogs require a minimum 45min walk a day PLUS they need exercise (walking is *so* not "exercise" for these breeds!) and then they need jobs - that means you need to train them.

you'll be moving and shaking in spite of yourself!

What I Discovered During a Power Outage

The power is OUT! Flashlights dim? Candles too dangerous with kids/pets? No batteries left in the store? Try the little individual solar lights designed for outdoors. I bought some at a discount store for cheap. I keep a few on my sunny fencepost...they stay clean and within easy reach to bring inside for great indoor lighting in an emergency or any day to save electricity and use the sun's free energy.
BONUS: Our old dog needs a night light, this kept us safe & worry free. emoticon

Walk the Dog!

Even if you have a back yard for your pooch it is great exercise to walk with them outside! Fresh air, movement, and your dog is more happy for it. If you get more fit and your dog is willing, you could also go for runs with your dog! Stay on streets to keep your dog from stopping.

Dog Walking

Would love to have a dog but can't because of time/landlord/money?? Volunteer at the SPCA as a dog walker! Free exercise, and that feel-good feeling that you get for helping out a charity.

Do it for your dog.

You have to walk if you have a dog. They need exercise too. So if you can't get motivated to go for a walk, just think about your furry little friend looking up at you with those puppy dog eyes. How can you say no to that?

Get a Dog!

Knowing that my dog needs to get some of his boundless energy out gets me out the door for a nice long walk. He's happy and I'm happy and we're both healthier!

Your dog is a furry fitness machine!

My dog keeps me on track. He absolutely loves his daily walks of at least 3 miles. He definitely knows when it's time to go for a walk. If I'm not feeling the motivation, I ask him if he wants to go for a walk and he gets SO excited. How can you disappoint your best friend then? YOU CAN'T!! :)

Play with your kid's Razor

After dropping off my nephew at the bus stop, I use his Razor to walk the dog around the block. It reminds me that I don't enjoy myself as much as I used to do as a kid. The dog gets to run faster, and I get a better workout.
