I started a workout challenge to stay active while at home. I called it the World Cup Challenge. Every day I changed the rules depending on my mood. On days I didn't feel like doing anything, I told myself, "Just do 10 minutes to complete today's challenge!" I kept this up for 32 days, the duration of the World Cup. Just enough time to make daily workouts a habit.
Challenges should inspire & motivate us all. Consider this, if you add just 10 minutes of exercise a day, it doesn't seem like much of a daily commitment. But each week its an additional 70 minutes, OR over 60+ extra HOURS of exercise a year!
Searching for the common denominator in your life? You are in luck. You are it. Now that you know what the only consistent factor is, you can begin to figure out how you are contributing to recurring challenges & problems. This is great news because, once you realize you are at least part of the problem, you can begin to change your behavior, beliefs & attitudes that are contributing to the situation.
One of the most challenging things to do is to forgive myself for the poor choices that I made that brought me to this circumstance that threatens my good health. It is not a one-time event, rather it is something that must be done daily.
To remind me, I send a list of Spark appointments to myself..ongoing daily, weekly, monthly.. This is done for specific challenges, weigh ins, etc. So each day, week, month I get a reminder of the specifics I am obligate to do that day. It is summarized so I receive 1 email for day., week, month.
