Climbing hills on a bike

To make climbing hills on your bike MUCH easier, do this:

Get a good pace going before you reach the hill
Sit back in your seat, try to keep a steady pace and when you feel your legs slow down, drop to a lower gear. Also, gently rock the bike side to side.

Map Your Route

My new passion since joining Spark People is to take bike rides. My neighborhood provides many routes which I like because it gives me variety. SP has a routing tool that lets you map your route to keep track of your course and calculate the distance you traveled. I love this tool!
