Save up or barter for training sessions

Hiring a trainer has been key to keeping me motivated and fit. Having someone to push you, access your weak areas and fitness goals and then use their expertise to get you there is a plus, plus. Showing up for a specific appointment time also is key to prioritizing my getting to the gym.

Make an appointment for activity

I'm always on time for appointments and scheduled events, but for a while, I would allow myself to skip exercise. So, now I make an appointment, and schedule myself a time to do what I need to do! A planned activity and time can be much more effective than a "I'll do some exercise today" vision.

Take a class

Signing up for a class will bring results. Everyone has to start somewhere! You will commit to yourself by putting the time on your schedule. You will learn how to do something you never tried OR improve to do it better. You'll be with others with like interests and have a built in support system. You may even find a new pursuit or become good enough to teach it yourself.

Get out of Bed on a Positive Note

As an emotional eater, I am constantly sneaking in positive reminders to myself in various formats. I particularly like when my mobile phone calendar alarm sounds off at 6:00am with a daily motivational reminder like: “Act as if today is a great day!” or “Act as if I am strong, lean, healthy, and sexy”.

Take a list of questions to your doctor's exam

Be an active partner in your health care! Take a list of questions or symptoms with you to your next appointment and discuss it with your health care provider. It will help them make better decisions and make sure your priorities have been addressed.

Keeping Track of Multiple Challenges

I like to take part in many different challenges. It can get confusing as to when and where I have to post for them all.
I schedule them as appointments in the Spark Planner. You can set them to repeat weekly for as long as you need it. I get reminders sent to my email and earn SparkPoints for doing so!
