Refresh those basics!! I still believe in my pedometer ~ make those numbers go UP!
Seriously this works every time. If I just don't feel like hitting the GYM I tell myself, "I'm just going to walk or do 10 minutes". Toss on your work out clothes and shoes & go out the door. I hit the gym and I am always excited that I pull through and do an amazing workout/run. I am NEVER beating myself up for going only if I don't at all!
Simply put, there is an amazing amount of support and encouragement here on Sparkpeople. The support you give others will come back to you 10fold when you least expect it and need it the most. Getting involved in various sparkteams will help keep you from derailing-or if your are off track can reel you back in.
Being a team leader is a great way to spread my Spark & keep it shining brightly. It motivates me to know there are others looking to me for support, information, cheerleading, or to be an example of how SP can work for them. As the old saying goes, "Try it! You'll like it?!"
I have found that some of the young ladies in my neighborhood could really use someone to hang out with. It is fun because they love helping me with what I am working on around the house (gardening, cooking, cleaning out my car) and I enjoy sharing tips and tricks they can use when they grow up.
This is not a hard site to navigate if you have a plan. Log in, spin the wheel, record the food and then the exercise. Then play with anything else (e. g. post, blog, read articles, etc.). But get those 3 basics done first.
Every time I've hit a low, this magic trick has worked for me: send a shout out on Spark-- a blog, a help line on a team conversation, a huddle...the reassurance that others who have been there are there for you now makes it impossible to stay negative for very long.
