Canadians - Learn about the Scanning Code of Practice If the item you are purchasing had one price on the shelf and scans into the cash register at a different price you can point out that it is a violation of the Scanning Code of Practice. The retailer either has to give you the item for free, if it costs less than $10, or give you $10 off the item. Search for "Scanning Code of Practice" on-line to learn all the details. It helps keep stores honest if you're a smart consumer and aware of things like this.
