When going out with friends/family to a restaurant (as we all have those get togethers with family members that don't understand your goals) order a side salad for your appetizer with a vinegar or vinagrette dressing. Then a broth based soup for dinner. You'll stay within your calories & will be satisfied in the end. Also, I order lemon in my water. The lemon juice will help you to feel full as well. You won't feel like you need to have desert either.
Eating a small snack or meal every two to three hours helps me feel full on a low calorie diet (@1200 kcal). Every snack and meal includes protein. This works for me, and I have dropped 13 pounds in five weeks.

At one point i was down 80 pounds from eating fish for supper, i would cook it with peppers,onions,tomatoes and garlic with some Balsamic vinegar or dressing, i find that the fat free dressings help out a lot to crush huger battles. If i am CRAVING chinese food i will cook the fish in Asian toasted sesame fat free dressing, if i want italian i will cook it in fat free caesar italian with some stewed tomatoes. It is just as good with chicken too :D
To get my ice cream fix or when I want something sweet I have a few pints of Arctic Zero on hand. I discovered this product at the Natural Food Market a few weeks ago and I am in LOVE! I can eat a whole pint of something sweet and delicious that mimicks ice cream with no guilt! What is the big secret? It is 150 calories for the whole pint! Yes, the whole pint and they are not shy about telling you, they print that all over their products and different flavors!
Raw foods high in fiber like green vegetables and fruit are excellent for keeping hunger down... fiber is absorbed more slowly and will sustain you for longer. It's also very low calorie, so there is no guilt when you feel like eating more! I pretty much stuff my face and lose weight consistently. The things I watch are my use of oils and such when I cook food.
Switching from lettuce to spinach for salad not only gives a boost to the nutrition level but adds no calories. Sprinkle with lemon juice for flavor and forego the dressings. Zero calories added. I eat a big spinach salad every day and vary the veggies I add to it.
Standard scrambled eggs call for 3 eggs, some milk, and salt & pepper to taste. I replace the 3 eggs with 2 egg whites and 1 full egg, and I replace the milk with a splash of water. You reduce the calories this way, and I swear you can't taste a difference at all.
When I want a sandwich, I cut the slice of bread in half to make 2 full size-looking THIN slices. Then I toast them on my panini maker and then put lot of fillings in it :) Same taste and same feel, but it is only 1 slice. For whole grain bread that saves you about 120 calories for the sandwich.
Take out the Mayo when making Tuna Salad. I simply add a can of tuna, mustard, and pickle relish. There's a ton of flavor without all those extra calories. Instead of bread I grab some Romaine Lettuce leaves and spread my tuna mix over it. It's delicious.
I so, so, so LOVE these bagels! Just 110 calories, lots of fiber and they taste GREAT! I save enough calories that I splurge on full-fat whipped cream cheese to go with them! (sometimes with some chopped strawberries and nuts and a little honey! mmmm!!)
Grilling fruits and vegetables, makes it them easier to eat. It heightens their flavors, and brings your dish to a whole new level. Try it with Fruits also, great dessert on their own this way. With out adding sweeteners and extra calories.
This is one of my 'Go to' frozen dinners when I'm running close to my limit on calories, fat, etc.
I tend to throw in the towel and quit every time i cheated so i decided to allow myself a TREAT everyday.
