Dressing the Part

When I get home from work I change into my gym clothes that way when it's time to go I have no excuses! It also keeps me on time (I am perpetually late).

8 8 ouncers

I NEVER thought I would be able to drink ALL that water. I NEVER drank water. I drank lots of diet pop.

So I started adding ice to keep it cold like soda and then I started sipping it through a straw. (It goes fast & saves lipstick.)
It worked like magic: 1 soda in 11 months!

Over 50 and exercising

I have found that I can do almost any exercise at 55 years old. We can modify our exercise to low impact when necessary. But exercising at any age is so beneficial. It is also FUN!! emoticon

SPREAD SHEET

I made a budget on a spreadsheet to track all of my expenses and revenues. The formulas show all transactions on the account and show the bottom dollar at the end of each month. Once I see how much I can have left if I don't spend, it encourages me to only spend what I need. I can see months later how much I will have if I stay on track. emoticon

Walking tours

I discovered a self-walking tour book at the library for areas within driving distances from where I live. By spending my weekends on these tours, it makes exercising fun as I follow the history and paths of these tours.

Mini-trampoline in morning sunshine

One of my favorite ways to start the day is bouncing on a mini-trampoline outside in the morning sunshine.

An additional option for parents is to involve your kids in this activity.

I LOVE My Pedometer!

Life is busy! No matter who we are, we seem to be busy people. At the end of the day, if I try to think about all I did in the past 18 or so hours, all I have is a high-speed blur. I'm so tired, I just want to close my eyes and rest up for the next day of insanity. Thankfully, it only takes a couple of minutes to check my pedometer, post my 5-7 miles of walking, how much time it took (my pedometer keeps track!) and post what I ate during the day, which I also try to keep simple.

Onion as Basement Deodorizer

Clear the air in a dank basement. Cut an onion in half, place it on a plate, and leave it out overnight. Once the initial salad-bar aroma dissipates, you'll have a fresh (non-oniony) atmosphere.
