Instead of music I listen to audio books while working out. There's lots of places to get them free like a library or librivox.org. For me, it's motivation to workout because I'll want to know what happens next in the story. It's killing two birds with one stone; reading and exercising.
Buy a steamer, it cuts down your cooking time, it's easy, healthy, and delicious. The best kind are the metal inserts that fit into a large "boiling" pan. I keep frozen chicken, fish, and freeze fresh veggies. When I get hungry, I just boil a little water and steam food right out of the freezer.
