I shared a small bag of chips with my 7-year old. When she took a chip to eat, THEN I had one. In this way, I didn't have more than half of the bag when I would otherwise I had 3/4 of the bag. And since chips are an infrequent thing, she can afford the small indulgence on her part.
Right where I can see it if I go to the fridge for a late-night snack that's all about desire for food rather than actually needing anything. It catches my eyes, so it's a good reminder to make a better choice.
We can track any nutrients you want. Calcium, Potassium, Vitamin A, etc. The food tracker allows us to add any of this. Now, rather than going for the multi-vitamin first, I'm trying to see if I can eat foods that'll get me my Recommended Daily Allowance of nutrients I want to track. As a result, I'm eating more whole foods and I'm too full to have much space for "junk" food or foods without nutrients.
