Keep unwanted animals away

Found a way to keep cats, dogs, squirrels, rabbits even mice and ants off my porch and yard. In a spray bottle put a cup of water, one tablespoon of vinegar, drain a 14 oz can of jalapeņos juice and one tablespoon of cayenne pepper. Spray around the bottom of plant containers, steps along edges of your porch and railings and around windowsills and your doorframe. It's an easy harmless solution that leaves nothing poisonous behind to worry about if children are in the home or neighborhood.

Out with the Old

I have implemented a new rule with my husband and kids. When ever they get something new THEY have to pick something old that they don't use or is broken, ect to get rid of. It keeps the house clutter free and saves so much time on toy clean up because they only have a few.

To help stop me from going to the kitchen

I put a baby gate in the doorway. This way I have to unlatch it, and that's just more effort and makes me give it a second thought before going in.

Think hard before bringing it into the house in the first place

When tempted to buy, bring or keep something at home ask the following: Do I have one already? If I do, is this one better [if so get rid of other item immediately]? Is this another thing I need 'just in case' that will most likely collect dust? Do I really have a place to keep it? Could I get access to one if/when I need it without owning it?

In The Pool

I have a round above ground pool. I will swim or "jog" at the edge of the pool in one direction to get a whirlpool or curent affect. Then I turn around and go in the other direction. Fighting that current adds some great resistance to my swim.

Sneaking in Exercise

Throughout the week, I normally have at least 2 or 3 phone conferences. In order to not disturb others, I shut my door. I use that time to also work my arm weights while I'm partcipating in the meeting and no one can see me emoticon Setting aside that time/event reminds me to work my arms and it doesn't limit my contributions to the meeting.

tough love and forgiveness

when I have a downward spiral, you know it when it happens, instead of using my old non-effective weapon of guilting myself back into eating healthy I forgive myself. Life gets messy and if we are not willing to cut ourselves some slack every once and a while, who will? I replace the negative emotion of guilt with reminding myself that this meal's battle was lost but the war is not over and over all I'm winning. The next day I show myself tough love by exercising my heart out. emoticon
