Meal plan using cook books with lots of pictures

I think cook books without photos of all dishes are a waste of paper. I will not attempt to cook a new dish based on an inanimate list of ingredients. Pictures bring the anticipated flavors and visual feast to life and I get inspired to cook, even using ingredients I don't know how to pronounce.

Posture

A quick "realignment" to improve your posture:
1. Stand up straight (or while walking).
2. lift your arms straight out to the sides from your body (so your body and arms make a T-shape).
3. turn your palms upwards, which naturally turns your whole arm a bit.

Steam anything

Using a multi-tier bamboo steamer that you put on top of your normal pan, makes great low fat or fat free cooking. It leaves all flavor and nutrients in the food and is much quicker than you'd think!

Ask before buying: Is it a need or is it a want?

If it's a need, buy; if it's a want, consider carefully the cost-benefit balance before purchasing. Unless we absolutely have to, sticking to needs only can be like too restrictive a diet and we may end up in a buying binge. But using discretion and an extra second to make a wise choice is good.
