If you are craving something sweet... Equal gum makes three flavors, Key Lime Pie, Strawberry Shortcake and Mint chocolate chip and they are great. If you want dessert, pop a piece of one of these flavors in your mouth and the craving will disappear. My fave is the key lime pie, yummy! And it lasts a long time too, by the time the flavor goes away you will be not feeling hungry anymore.

Stop the binge before it starts When you stumble...do you get up and throw yourself down the entire flight of stairs? If you break one egg, do you then smash the whole dozen? Of course not! So if you have a weak food moment, there's no reason to "blow" the rest of the day/week. Having one cookie or a few chips does not give you the excuse to scarf down the entire bag. Take a breath, acknowledge the "mistake" and get right back on plan. You'll be glad you did!

I say No after 7pm to food, I have a hard time with this for some reason, So I "Just say NO" when I think i want something to eat. It has worked wonders for me. Put up a Green light, yellow light and red light (picture of course) on your fridge or cabinets or wherever you get side tracked, switch the sign according to your calories, and at the end of the day the RED stop signal will remind you!!!

I always have been able to break through a plateau when I eat less at night for a few days. Nothing drastic, but something simple such as cutting back the amount of carbs at night(or switching the cals so that the lunch and early snack are a bit more heavier and dinner is a bit more light). This does the trick all the time but might be a bit difficult. It will help break through a plateau though and has helped me maintain my weight loss of 80 lbs. Hopefully I will remember this for my plateaus.

If you can't taste it... Don't waste it For example; if you are eating a sandwich and you can not taste the cheese on it why put in on there. If you can't taste it don't waste any of your calorie, fat or carb. allowances. Save it for something you can taste and savor.

If you're day is going badly, you can always start over at any time--and as many times as you'd like. It's just like pressing Control-Alt-Delete on your computer. Don't live with a nagging sense that you let yourself down, and don't wait until tomorrow to start over. Reboot! Half of a good day is better than a full bad day.
